US-based private equity firm L Catterton has made a strategic investment in Japan’s Seki Furniture to support its expansion in Japan. Seki Furniture, established in 1968, holds the largest share of Japan’s wholesale residential furniture market and operates 26 physical stores along with an e-commerce presence. L Catterton has experience in consumer-focused businesses and has previously invested in brands like Restoration Hardware and Boll & Branch. Seki Furniture CEO Hideki Haruta expressed excitement for further growth and enhancing corporate value with L Catterton’s support. The investment details were not disclosed.
