European stocks traded higher on Tuesday as the Eurozone business activity reached a 16-month high in September. The HCOB Flash Eurozone Composite Purchasing Managers’ Index rose to 51.2, showing growth for the ninth consecutive month. However, new orders stagnated after a brief expansion in August. The services sector boosted business activity, but the manufacturing sector fell back into contraction. The pan European Stoxx 600 increased by 0.4 percent, with the German DAX up by 0.6 percent, France’s CAC 40 climbing 0.9 percent, and the U.K.’s FTSE 100 rising by 0.4 percent. TUI, Smiths Group, Land Securities, and Kingfisher all saw stock price increases after positive corporate news.
