IO Biotech announced that its late-breaking abstract has been selected for an oral presentation at the 2025 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress in Berlin. The presentation will feature results from a Phase 3 trial of the IO102-IO103 cancer vaccine plus pembrolizumab for first-line advanced melanoma, as well as data from a Phase 2 trial for solid tumors. The company is also conducting a Phase 3 trial and two Phase 2 trials to investigate the efficacy of Cylembio, its lead cancer vaccine candidate, in combination with pembrolizumab for various cancers.
The Phase 3 trial (IOB-013/KN-D18) evaluated Cylembio in combination with pembrolizumab versus pembrolizumab alone in patients with advanced melanoma. The trial included 407 patients and assessed progression-free survival and other secondary endpoints. The company reported topline results in the third quarter of 2025. Another Phase 2 trial (IOB-022/KN-D38) is investigating Cylembio in combination with pembrolizumab for first-line treatment of metastatic non-small cell lung cancer or squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck. IO Biotech is collaborating with Merck on these trials.
