Eli Lilly And Co. announced a $6.5 billion investment to build a manufacturing plant in Houston, Texas, to increase production of small molecule medications like the experimental obesity drug orforglipron. This is part of a larger $27 billion plan to add four new plants in the US, with two more sites to be revealed later this year. The company has already invested $23 billion since 2020. All four plants are expected to be operational within five years.
