United Airlines has received FAA certification for its first mainline Starlink-equipped aircraft, a Boeing 737-800. The approval allows for the installation of Starlink’s Supplemental Type Certificate amendment on United’s fleet. The first Starlink-equipped flight is scheduled for October 15 from Newark/New York. Wi-Fi speeds on Starlink can reach up to 250 Mbps, offering inflight entertainment such as streaming services, shopping, and gaming. Grant Milstead, United’s VP of Digital Technology, expressed excitement about the enhanced inflight experience that Starlink will provide. Starlink is powered by SpaceX, offering a variety of entertainment options to passengers.
