Elizabeth Warren’s Inquiry Meets Resistance: Crypto Advocacy Group Defies Senator’s Questions On Hiring Practices
From Nasdaq, Inc.:
Cryptocurrency advocacy group Coin Center has rejected Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s request for information on its hiring of former government officials. Warren is concerned about the influence former law enforcement may have on crypto policy as it pertains to terrorist financing activities, but Coin Center has refused to comply with her request.
Coin Center also dismissed Warren’s characterization of proposed crypto bills as “common sense rules”, arguing against a potential infringement on constitutional rights. They suggested that Warren’s recommended policies against terror financing may not be effective, and better resources could be allocated to bolstering law enforcement agencies. Warren has also recently criticized the US Securities and Exchange Commission for approving a Bitcoin ETF.
