SEALSQ and Kaynes SemiCon have formed a JV, SEALKAYNESQ, to establish India’s first secure semiconductor design and personalisation center. SEALSQ will hold a 51% stake, with Kaynes SemiCon owning 49%, sharing governance through a five-member board. The facility will focus on advanced semiconductor test and personalisation services.

WISeKey and SEALSQ will exclusively license IP to the JV, with new IP owned by SEALKAYNESQ. The center will integrate PKI and PQC personalization, targeting compliance with national security regulations. Kaynes SemiCon CEO Raghu Panicker expressed commitment to putting India on the global semiconductor map and achieving self-reliance.

SEALSQ aims to bring PQC-ready chips, secure elements, crypto-processor IPs, PKI lifecycle platforms, hardware security modules, and post-quantum secure processors to the partnership. These components are designed for chip-level PQC personalization and deployment in sectors like finance, healthcare, government, defense, and IoT under Indian security requirements.

The collaboration with Kaynes SemiCon aligns with India’s semiconductor strategy and global supply chain security initiatives. It is expected to benefit from the Swiss-India Free Trade Agreement, reducing costs for imported semiconductor equipment. Kaynes Technology India, the parent company, has a market cap of $5.44bn and provides semiconductor assembly and test services.

SEALSQ CEO Carlos Moreira highlighted the partnership’s leverage of advanced semiconductor personalization and design expertise to enter India’s market. The collaboration is a step towards India’s semiconductor self-reliance and global recognition in the industry. The facility will play a crucial role in meeting the demands of various critical sectors.
