The European Outdoor Group (EOG) and Bundesverband der Deutschen Sportartikel-Industrie (BSI) released an updated Sustainability Data Exchange Questionnaire version 3.0 (SDEX 3.0) to streamline sustainability data exchange at the product level among brands and retailers, improving efficiency and reducing duplicated tasks. The tool includes enhanced features and reflects industry feedback and requests, making it more comprehensive and user-friendly. The updated questionnaire is part of a broader industry initiative towards transparency and compliance with evolving global policies. Outdoor brands and retailers are encouraged to engage with SDEX 3.0 to stay ahead of regulatory requirements and contribute to a more sustainable industry. The tool now includes questions on packaging, life cycle analyses, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) topics, catering to industry needs and reporting requirements. The hardgoods section has been revamped to accommodate a wider range of products, offering greater flexibility for components and materials, with input from producers to ensure inclusivity and accuracy. EOG announced plans for the return of its Outdoor trade show in 2026, following a pause on the 2025 edition, showcasing the industry’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.
