FedEx has launched a new flight connecting Dublin and Indianapolis to expedite the transport of high-value freight products for shippers in the U.S. and Ireland. This direct air freight lane will operate four days per week, bypassing congested East coast gateways and reducing delivery times for industries like healthcare, electronics, and aerospace.

Chief Customer Officer Brie Carere announced the new flight during the company’s first-quarter earnings presentation. FedEx’s international network redesign strategy aims to strengthen capabilities in the global air freight market. The network transformation involved segregating the fleet by product categories and demand requirements to improve profitability and customer service.

Ireland is a significant export market, with the majority of goods exported bound for the U.S. Pharmaceuticals and medical equipment are the leading export products. FedEx has opened a cold-chain facility at the Indianapolis hub, featuring three temperature zones to accommodate various cargo requirements.

FedEx’s recent initiatives align with its strategy to optimize its air network and enhance service offerings. The company’s investment in advanced digital tools and infrastructure improvements supports its commitment to meeting customer needs in growing sectors like healthcare and technology.
