Equatorial Guinea’s Hydrocarbons and Mining Development Minister, Antonio Oburu Ondo, has announced the EGRonda 2026 oil and gas licensing round, opening 24 blocks to global E&P companies with enhanced fiscal terms. The government will maintain an open-door policy for direct applications until the launch. The proposed round aims to boost exploration and address declining oil output, with Equatorial Guinea currently operating six producing fields. Chevron’s subsidiary, Noble Energy, has agreed to develop the Aseng gas project with an initial investment of $690m to sustain LNG supplies. The nation is also collaborating with Nigeria on the Gulf of Guinea Gas Pipeline and developing the EG-27 LNG project.
