Brookfield Infrastructure-owned Centersquare has acquired ten data centers in the US and Canada for $1 billion, expanding its total portfolio to 80 facilities. The deal was self-funded using cash on hand, with two centers in Boston and Minneapolis operated under long-term lease agreements.

The acquisition also includes eight colocation facilities in Dallas, Tulsa, Nashville, Raleigh, Toronto, and Montreal. Centersquare stated that the transaction increases its power and space capacity for high-density computing workloads. CEO Spencer Mullee emphasized the strategic growth of the platform to meet demand for high-performance infrastructure.

The acquired sites support enterprise and hyperscale customers, with room for future expansion. The move aligns with the growing demand for scalable, energy-efficient data center infrastructure driven by AI adoption. Centersquare has focused on investments to support GPU-intensive workloads for generative AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics.

Centersquare’s chair and Brookfield Global Data Centers CEO highlighted the shift in workloads towards AI-driven architectures that demand higher power densities. The company’s customer and revenue base has grown over the past two years, with an emphasis on a cost-efficient operating platform. Based in Dallas, Centersquare operates colocation facilities in key North American and UK markets, serving customers in technology, financial services, healthcare, and media sectors.
