UK-based specialist lender Shawbrook Group is considering an IPO on the London Stock Exchange, backed by BC Partners and Pollen Street. Its loan book grew from £1.4bn to £17bn, with a profit increase to £119.5m. The group aims to double its loan book to £30bn by 2030.

Shawbrook has completed 24 acquisitions, including ThinCats Group, and has enlisted financial advisers for the IPO. The move is intended to enhance market presence, retain key personnel, and access diverse capital sources. Shawbrook was previously listed on the LSE from 2015-2017 before going private.

CEO Marcelino Castrillo highlights the growth potential in the UK economy for Shawbrook. The lender sees opportunities to expand its offerings to new customers and capitalize on favorable market conditions. The IPO plans signal Shawbrook’s ambition for further growth and market recognition.
