The stock market’s government shutdown rally continued with the S&P 500 on track for an eighth straight day of gains. The Dow Jones rose 82 points, the S&P 500 was up 0.1%, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.1%. If they close higher, both the S&P and Nasdaq will hit new highs.
Bespoke Investment Group co-founder Paul Hickey notes that few people have felt the effects of the shutdown so far. However, as paydays pass, more individuals may be impacted, leading to increased calls to DC.
