New Airport Terminal at Kahama Airstrip to Leave Lasting

Barrick Gold Corporation donates a new airport terminal to the Tanzania Airport Authority. This ceremony marks the end of an eight-month $384,000 project that will allow for scheduled airline service in Kahama. The new terminal can handle over 200 passengers at a time and will support economic growth in the area. Additionally, Barrick is working to transform the closed Buzwagi gold mine into a Special Economic Zone, which could create 3,000 jobs annually and generate significant revenue for the local economy. The company has also committed to environmental rehabilitation and sustainability initiatives in Tanzania.
