Carlsberg is expanding its Rugby factory with a new £20m canning line, creating 30 new jobs and increasing production capacity by 50,000 cans per hour. The investment will allow the site to produce popular brands like Tango and Pepsi Max, part of Carlsberg’s strategy to enhance its supply chain.
The new canning line will generate 34 new engineering and manufacturing jobs, bringing the total number of employees at the site to over 430. This investment, along with previous ones, has totaled more than £60m in the last five years, showing Carlsberg’s commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in its supply chain.
Carlsberg’s VP of production in the UK, Nigel Paine, highlighted the investment as a way to meet increasing demand for popular brands, create more jobs, and improve operational efficiency. This expansion aligns with Carlsberg’s goal to reduce carbon emissions, further supported by a government grant for sustainability initiatives.
