Space stock Intuitive Machines climbs ahead of historic moon-landing mission

Shares of Intuitive Machines Inc. rose 7.3% as it prepares to launch its first commercial lunar lander, aiming to be the first private US probe on the moon. This comes after a troubled moon mission by Astrobotic Technology and a successful lunar landing by Japan’s SLIM spacecraft. The Houston-based company’s Nova-C lunar lander is set to launch as early as next month, carrying five NASA payloads and commercial cargo. This mission is crucial to NASA’s Artemis program, targeting September 2025 for its first crewed Artemis mission around the moon. Other space stocks, including Virgin Galactic, also experienced gains on Monday.
