Trump Vice President Pick: Crypto Bettors Backing Haley, Ramaswamy, DeSantis — And This Potential Frontrunner

From Nasdaq Clearing AB:

Former President Donald Trump wins the Iowa caucus with 51% of the vote, bringing him closer to securing the 2024 GOP presidential nomination. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley rank second and third. Since the results, DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy have dropped out, pledging their support to Trump.

Betting markets on Polymarket have attracted $18 million in wagers for the overall 2024 election odds. The platform offers odds on Trump’s potential vice presidential pick, with Elise Stefanik as the betting favorite at 26 cents. This market has attracted over $212,000 in wagers.

Stefanik has the most wagered on her, with over $56,000 bet on her. Scott has the second most bet on candidate, with over $41,000. Despite previous statements suggesting he wouldn’t be a “number two guy,” DeSantis was a relatively popular bet, at $33,000. Trump spoke positively of Stefanik, calling her “a killer” during a recent discussion.

Polymarket is seeing increased attention for its political betting, with bets totaling more than $4 million for the Iowa caucus and over $5 million on the New Hampshire primary. The 2024 election betting has surpassed the prediction market for Bitcoin (BTC) ETFs getting approved, which was previously one of the top betting markets on Polymarket.
