Corn futures are down 1 to 2 ½ cents at midday, with most contracts under pressure. The national average Cash Corn price is 2 ½ cents lower at $3.68 1/4. Harvest may be slowed in the back half of the next week due to expected heavier rain in the ECB. AgRural reports 45% of the Brazilian first corn crop planted, ahead of last year’s pace. Dec 25 Corn is at $4.10 1/2, Nearby Cash is at $3.68 1/4, Mar 26 Corn is at $4.27, and May 26 Corn is at $4.36 1/4. Due to the government shutdown on Columbus Day, Export Inspections report is delayed to Tuesday.
