Apple is expanding its manufacturing operations in Vietnam to produce indoor security cameras, a home hub display, and a tabletop robot. These products will be assembled by Chinese partner BYD Co. The move comes as part of Apple’s strategy to reduce reliance on China and enter the smart home market. Despite ongoing geopolitical tensions, Vietnam is playing a growing role in Apple’s supply chain. The home hub, delayed to 2026, will have FaceTime cameras and adaptive interfaces, priced around $350. The tabletop robot, inspired by Apple’s self-driving car project, will cost several hundred dollars. AAPL closed at $245.34 on NasdaqGS.
