Billionaire philanthropist MacKenzie Scott has decreased her stake in Amazon by 42% since last year, holding 81.1 million shares, down 58 million from a year ago. The reduction is valued at $12.55 billion based on Amazon’s closing price on Tuesday. Her ex-husband, Jeff Bezos, retains over 964 million Amazon shares.

Scott received a 4% stake in Amazon, worth $36 billion, as part of her divorce settlement with Bezos in 2019. She has donated over $19.25 billion to 2,450 non-profit organizations, according to her Yield Giving website. Amazon has not yet commented on the matter.

The regulatory filing regarding Scott’s reduced stake in Amazon was made in Bezos’ name, stating he beneficially owned over 964 million shares, including 81.1 million shares with sole voting authority. Reuters could not independently verify the filing. Scott’s philanthropic efforts continue to make a significant impact.
