The Progressive Corporation (PGR) has reported a net income of $1.99 billion for the fourth quarter, marking a significant increase of 141% from the previous year. Earnings per share also saw a substantial rise to $3.37 from $1.40. Additionally, fourth quarter net premiums written were $15.13 billion, showing a 21% increase from the prior year. In December alone, the company reported a net income of $901.2 million and net premiums written of $4.88 billion. As a result, shares of The Progressive Corporation are up 5% in pre-market trade.
