Li Auto Strikes Back At Tesla’s Snub With Performance Test Victory

From Nasdaq Inc.:

Li Auto has challenged Tesla by releasing a video that shows a range test between its soon-to-be-launched Li Mega MPV and Tesla’s Model X SUV. In the test, the Li Mega finished with 14% battery remaining, indicating a real-world range of 636 kilometers, outdistancing the Model X. Li Mega also outperformed Model X in charging speed. The rivalry comes as Chinese auto manufacturers aim to stimulate growth in the NEV industry and expand into global markets amid a 35.7% increase in auto sales in 2023.

Goldman Sachs has predicted a 50% surge in the stock value of Li Auto based on monthly deliveries and the imminent launch of their new model. This news comes as China saw an increase in auto sales in 2023, with NEV retail sales making up 35.7% of all passenger vehicle sales. This happens amid a growing rivalry between Li Auto and Tesla, as Li Auto has demonstrated its electric vehicle’s range is superior to that of Tesla’s Model X in a range test video, effectively challenging the American brand’s dominance in the EV market.
