Genentech, a member of the Roche Group, reported positive results from the Phase III evERA Breast Cancer study. The combination of giredestrant and everolimus reduced the risk of disease progression by 44% in the ITT population and 62% in the ESR1-mutated population. The study focused on patients with ER-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer who had previously been treated with a CDK 4/6 inhibitor and endocrine therapy. The combination was well tolerated with no new safety signals, and positive trends were noted in overall survival data. If approved, this could be the first oral SERD combination for post-CDK inhibitor patients.
