The Mazda MX-5 Miata is a top overall contender, priced at $35,750 with a mileage of 26/34 mpg. Although it has the least horsepower on the list at 181, it’s known for its lively engine, smooth transmission, and fun-to-drive experience. The drawback is its small trunk and limited seating for two.

The Toyota GR86, priced at $28,400 with a mileage of 20/27 mpg, is recognized for its affordability and exceptional safety features. It has received top marks in crash tests and IIHS designated it as a Top Safety Pick+, making it great for safety-conscious buyers.

The Subaru WRX, starting at $32,735 with a mileage of 19/25 mpg, is touted for exceptional performance at an affordable price. It delivers 271 horsepower powered by a turbocharged engine, but its infotainment system is considered subpar.

The Jaguar F-Type, at a higher price of $77,900 with a mileage of 16/24 mpg, provides excellent performance and a large trunk. What sets it apart is the five-year/60,000-mile limited warranty that covers faulty components and expensive repairs.

Finally, the Chevrolet Camaro provides a certified pre-owned program that includes a 172-point inspection, making it the most comprehensive among the cars featured. It offers a wide choice of engines and high horsepower. Toyota and Mazda also offer certified pre-owned inspection programs.
