The Best Large SUVs of 2024
From Time Magazine:
Full-size SUVs — three-row behemoths that rule the road — are popular for hauling people, pets, or large equipment. They can handle a variety of terrains and weather conditions. However, they can be costly to fuel, difficult to maneuver, and feel slow on the highway.
The Kia Telluride has been named the Best Overall Large SUV of 2024. With a price starting at $36,190 and a mileage of 18/24 mpg, it has lots of cargo space and a great warranty. Its V6 engine delivers 291 horsepower, and it seats up to eight people.
The Audi Q7 is the Best for Safety, boasting a price of $59,500 and a mileage of 18/22 mpg. It has received a Top Safety Pick+ designation from the IIHS and comes with a suite of standard safety equipment.
The Kia Telluride also takes the title of Best for Retained Value. Priced at $35,990, it offers a low starting price, lots of cargo space, and a great warranty. The vehicle is recognized for holding its value especially well over a three-year period.
As far as the Best Warranty goes, the Kia Telluride once again takes the title due to its reliable 5-year/60,000-mile coverage. Other large SUVs may have less comprehensive warranty options, with some only offering 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranties.
Finally, the Chevrolet Suburban has been named the Best CPO, with a price of $59,200 and a mileage of 14/19 mpg. Vehicles included in the CPO program must pass a 172-point inspection and be six years old or younger with fewer than 75,000 miles. The program includes a 6-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty and one year/12,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper coverage.
