Beyond Meat’s shares have skyrocketed, more than doubling and rising over 92%. The surge in stock price comes after plummeting to all-time lows a week ago, closing at 52 cents per share on Oct. 16. Investors are excited about the company’s increased product availability at Walmart and the launch of a direct-to-consumer website.
Roundhill Investments adding Beyond Meat to its Meme Stock ETF has been a major driver of the recent rally. Meme stocks, which gain popularity through social media hype rather than financial performance, have drawn investor attention throughout 2025. Beyond Meat, once a Nasdaq darling in 2019, has struggled recently with weak demand, leading to a 15% drop in net revenue in the first half of this year.
Last week, Beyond Meat’s stock price took a hit after the expiration of lock-up restrictions on some of its shares. The move was part of a plan to reduce debt and extend the time until its debt matures. Shareholders were previously prevented from selling their stock, but now have the freedom to do so.
