Private equity firms Blackstone and TPG have agreed to acquire medical diagnostics firm Hologic in an $18.3 billion deal, one of the largest healthcare take-private transactions this year. Shareholders will receive $76 per share in cash, with a potential additional payout of $3 per share based on revenue goals. Hologic specializes in women’s health diagnostics, showing growth in molecular diagnostics but weakness in the breast health segment. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2026.
