Natural gas prices rose on Tuesday, with Nymex closing up by 2.27%. This increase marked a 1.5-week high, driven by colder US weather forecasts boosting heating demand. US dry gas production was up 1.1% y/y, while state gas demand rose by 4.9% y/y. LNG net flows to US terminals decreased by 1.7% w/w. Despite record-high nat-gas production, prices were supported by higher electricity output. Nat-gas inventories also remained below market consensus, signaling adequate supplies. The number of active US nat-gas drilling rigs increased by +1 to 121, just shy of a 2-year high.
