JPMorgan Chase & Co. plans to allow institutional clients to borrow against their Bitcoin and Ethereum holdings by the end of 2025. The program will use a third-party custodian to secure the pledged tokens. This move builds on a June announcement regarding crypto collateral loans with plans to expand access to other funds. JPMorgan has integrated crypto into its lending operations and launched a digital deposit token on Coinbase. The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission has also allowed stablecoins like USDT and USDC to serve as tokenized collateral. Demand for BTC-backed loans continues to grow as regulations ease.
