Ryder System’s revenue remained flat in the third quarter, but non-GAAP earnings per share increased to $3.57 from $3.44 a year ago. Dedicated Transportation Solutions, hit by the trucking market, saw a 10% decline in revenue. Despite this, earnings before taxes remained steady at $36 million.

The core leasing business of Ryder, Fleet Management Solutions, experienced a minor drop in revenue but saw earnings before taxes increase by 11%. Supply Chain Solutions showed the best revenue growth, with earnings before taxes dropping by 8%. Used vehicle sales impacted earnings, with pricing down for tractor and truck sales.

Fuel costs were lower for Ryder in the quarter, dropping from $116 million to $94 million. Ryder adjusted its forecast slightly, expecting fiscal non-GAAP EPS of $12.85-$13.05. Other forecast numbers remained unchanged. CEO Robert Sanchez mentioned fleet reductions due to weaker market conditions.
