ENGIE has signed a power purchase agreement with Meta to supply electricity from the Swenson Ranch solar farm in Texas. The 600MW project, set for completion in 2027, will be ENGIE’s largest asset in the US. ENGIE has over 11GW of capacity in solar, wind, and battery projects.
Meta plans to power its US data centers with the solar farm’s output, creating 350 skilled jobs during construction and contributing $160m in local tax revenues. The agreement boosts ENGIE and Meta’s total capacity to over 1.3GW across four renewable projects in Texas, promoting a sustainable energy model.
ENGIE aims to accelerate global PPAs to support customer decarbonization efforts. By securing 4.3GW of renewable PPAs by 2024, ENGIE strengthens its position in the US market, meeting the rising demand for renewable energies. The company prioritizes competitive energy solutions tailored to customer needs.
