Microsoft and OpenAI have agreed to allow the ChatGPT developer to establish a public benefit corporation. Microsoft will have an investment in OpenAI valued at $135 billion, representing 27% ownership. OpenAI has completed a recapitalization, simplifying its structure and giving the nonprofit more resources before Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) arrives.
