Tropicana Las Vegas, once known as the ‘Tiffany of the Strip’, will be demolished to make way for $1.5bn MLB stadium for Oakland A’s

The Tropicana Las Vegas, a longstanding landmark on the Strip, is shutting down to make way for a $1.5 billion Major League Baseball stadium projected to open in 2028. The hotel’s history includes a noted early mob association and has hosted performers like Sammy Davis Jr., Elvis Presley and magicians Siegfried and Roy. The stadium has $380 million in public funding. Bally’s Corporation paid $380 million for the Tropicana in 2021.
