Wave Life Sciences announced positive results from its INLIGHT clinical trial of WVE-007, a GalNAc-siRNA, for obesity. Significant reductions of Activin E of up to 85% were observed one month post single dose, exceeding levels leading to weight loss in preclinical models. Activin E reductions were sustained through 6 months in lowest dose cohort, supporting once or twice yearly dosing. Additional updates included announcement of WVE-008, a PNPLA3 RNA editing candidate for liver disease. Wave is pioneering a new modality that can edit and silence two unique targets with a single oligonucleotide construct. Multiple clinical data updates are expected starting in 4Q 2025.
