Meta Platforms Q4 Earnings Highlights: Revenue Beat, EPS Beat, Company’s First Dividend And More

Meta Platforms reported fourth-quarter revenue of $40.11 billion, up 25% year-over-year, beating a consensus estimate. Earnings per share were $5.33, surpassing estimates. The company reported 3.19 billion average family daily active people and 3.98 billion monthly active people. Facebook daily and monthly active users both saw year-over-year increases. Ad impressions were up 2% while the average price per ad was down 9%. Full fiscal year revenue was $134.90 billion, up 16%. The company bought back $20.03 billion shares and announced a $50 billion increase to its share repurchase authorization. It ended the quarter with $65.40 billion in cash. Meta announced its first quarterly dividend, paying 50 cents per share on March 26, 2024. The company expects first-quarter revenue in a range of $34.5 billion to $37 billion and full-year expenses between $94 billion and $99 billion. Operating losses for Reality Labs are expected to increase “meaningfully,” and capital expenditures are expected to be in a range of $30 billion to $37 billion for the full fiscal year. The company said fiscal 2023 was a “pivotal year.” Meta shares are currently priced at $442.85, setting new highs in the after-hours trading session.
