Alstom plans to hire 120 new employees at its Plattsburgh, NY plant to meet demand for rail cars, supporting production of 374 units for NJ Transit. The company seeks workers with skills in assembly, crane operations, welding, and industrial painting.

Alstom’s Plattsburgh plant director Jeff Lambert highlights the company’s growth phase and contribution to the region’s economy. The facility currently employs 350 people locally and over 86,000 globally. Alstom has been operating in the Adirondack region since 1995, producing thousands of rail cars for various transit authorities.

Alstom is also producing trains for Transport for London’s Elizabeth line in the UK, supporting over 1,000 jobs with a £220.5m contract involving nearly 40 British companies. Additionally, the company recently unveiled the first of ten electric trains for an express service between central Barcelona and Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport.
