Switzerland’s SMI index closed with a slight gain, despite stocks paring early gains. Consumer price inflation slowed unexpectedly in October, with prices for food and transportation dropping. Sandoz Group rose 3.5%, while Nestle gained 1.1%. However, Sika ended down 3.82% after revising growth targets. Lonza Group lost 2.7%. On a yearly basis, consumer prices rose 0.1% in October, below economists’ expectations of 0.3%. Monthly consumer prices decreased 0.3%, more than the expected 0.1% fall.
