Shares of Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ: META) reached all-time highs after the company reported fourth-quarter financial results that surpassed analyst expectations. This boost has increased the wealth of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who could make $700 million annually from dividends of the Meta shares he owns.

Zuckerberg’s wealth is soaring, as he gained $14.3 billion year-to-date, showing the largest year-to-date gain of the richest people in the world. As of Thursday, he was the fifth richest person with $142 billion, but the recent surge in Meta shares could see him entering the top four wealthiest individuals globally.

In 2023, the top 10 richest people gained $465.4 billion in wealth, with Zuckerberg being one of the biggest gainers, adding $82.5 billion to his net worth. This follows a rough 2022, where Zuckerberg fell out of the top 10 richest people, as Meta shares had a significant decline.

The turnaround of Meta shares has significantly impacted the wealth of Zuckerberg, with Meta shares up 20.32% on Friday and over 200% in the last year. This could see Zuckerberg quickly entering the top four wealthiest individuals globally.
