High school teacher catches Target misidentifying civil rights icons for Black History Month
From Fortune Magazine:
Target will stop selling a product dedicated to Civil Rights icons after serious misidentifications. The magnetic activity was flagged by a Las Vegas teacher on TikTok. Target confirmed it would stop sales but did not address how long it was being sold. The product removal comes at the beginning of Black History Month. Bendon manufacturing’s label was on the product and did not respond to requests for statements. The teacher who posted the video has not received an apology from Target or Bendon and says the incident emphasizes a need to review products before releasing them. Target had a subsequent outcry for harmful errors and took the product out of sales but is yet to apologize.
