Appetronix, a food technology company, has secured over $10m in financing, with $6m from a recent seed-plus round led by Jim Grote, the Grote family, and AlleyCorp. The funding will accelerate go-to-market activities and support the roll-out of robotic kitchen concepts for various cuisine styles and formats.

Tailored for high-traffic institutional environments, Appetronix plans to develop and deploy robotic kitchen models focusing initially on non-commercial, high-footfall venues like airports, hospitals, and universities. CEO Nipun Sharma expressed the investment validates their goal of delivering top-notch food experiences to underserved environments.

Through a partnership with Donatos, Appetronix launched a fully autonomous pizza restaurant in June 2025 at John Glenn Columbus International Airport. The collaboration has exceeded expectations, showcasing the capabilities of Appetronix’s robotic kitchen systems in addressing operational pain points in the foodservice sector.
