Organon is selling its JADA post-partum haemorrhage (PPH) treatment system to Laborie Medical in a deal worth up to $465m. The deal includes a $440m payment at closing and additional payments up to $25m based on 2026 revenue targets. Around 100 Organon employees will transfer to Laborie.
The JADA system, originally developed by Alydia Health, features an intrauterine vacuum to manage abnormal postpartum uterine bleeding. The device received FDA clearance in 2020 and was acquired by Organon for $240m in 2021. Organon’s interim CEO Joseph Morrissey sees the sale as an opportunity to focus on women’s health biopharma.
Organon’s move to sell JADA comes as the company looks to shift away from medtech women’s health devices to concentrate on its women’s health biopharma products. Sales of JADA grew by 40% in 2024, reaching $61m. Nexplanon, Organon’s top-selling biopharma product, generated around $179m in revenue in Q2 2025.
Following a sales malpractice scandal involving its contraceptive implant Nexplanon, Organon’s CEO Kevin Ali stepped down. The company’s stock value fell by 20.9% in late October 2025. Organon’s stock performance has declined by over 60% in the past year, currently trading at $6.61 per share, down from $17-$18 in November 2024.
Medical Device Network originally reported on Organon’s divestment of the JADA system to Laborie in a $465m deal. The transaction is set to be completed by Q1 2026, allowing Organon to focus on its women’s health biopharma portfolio.
