CRISPR Therapeutics announced positive Phase 1 data for CTX310®, a gene-editing therapy targeting ANGPTL3, showing significant reductions in ANGPTL3, triglycerides, and LDL cholesterol. Results were presented at the AHA Scientific Sessions and published in The New England Journal of Medicine. CTX310 was well-tolerated with no serious adverse events. Data demonstrated a mean reduction of 60% in TG for participants with elevated baseline levels. The therapy has the potential to lower TG and LDL cholesterol in patients with severe dyslipidemia, addressing a significant medical need for over 40 million Americans. In a Phase 1 clinical trial, CTX310 showed promising results in reducing triglycerides (TG) by 60% and LDL cholesterol by up to 87% at Day 60 post-infusion. Two participants on PCSK9 inhibitors achieved >80% reduction in LDL. CRISPR Therapeutics plans to advance CTX310 into Phase 1b trials for severe dyslipidemia. The company’s proprietary lipid nanoparticle delivery platform enables gene editing in the liver, with lead programs targeting ANGPTL3 and LPA. Founded over a decade ago, CRISPR Therapeutics has evolved into a gene-editing industry leader, with a pipeline spanning various diseases and strategic collaborations with Vertex Pharmaceuticals.
