Fed’s Powell rebuffs Corporate America’s RTO mandates
From Fortune Magazine:
Fed chair Jay Powell admitted remote work was here to stay on 60 Minutes, frustrating CEOs hoping to roll back pandemic-era WFH policies. Corporations like Tesla and Goldman Sachs seek to return to WFH, sparking worker dissatisfaction and potential resignations. Employers are now actively monitoring employees to enforce return to office mandates.
Powell expressed regret over the Fed’s failure to counteract inflation in 2021 and warned of the unsustainable fiscal path of the U.S. federal government. He also dismissed fears of a systemic problem in the U.S. banking system from vacant commercial real estate loans. If you enjoyed this article, subscribe to the CEO Daily newsletter.
