This week, only a few key companies are set to report earnings, including Disney (DIS), Cisco Systems (CSCO), CoreWeave (CRWV), Nu Holdings (NU), Jd.com (JD), Occidental Petroleum (OXY), and Applied Materials (AMAT). Implied volatility tends to be high before earnings, dropping back down after the announcement.
Expected ranges for this week’s earnings include CRWV at 16.1%, OXY at 4.6%, and B at 6.3%. Traders can structure trades using bear call spreads, bull put spreads, or iron condors outside the expected range. Keeping positions small with defined risk is recommended.
Last week, 19 out of 22 companies stayed within the expected range after earnings, with only 9 moving higher. Unusual options activity was seen in ONON, GM, IREN, WYNN, GOOGL, TSLA, and MSTR. Options trading carries risks, and investors should conduct their own research and consult with a financial advisor.
