The Disney Destiny cruise ship, featuring a heroes and villains theme, will set sail later this month from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The ship, standing at 221 feet tall with a length of 1,119 feet, can accommodate 4,000 passengers and 1,555 crew members, offering four- and five-night cruises to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean.

The Disney Destiny is the seventh ship in Disney’s fleet, marking a period of rapid growth for the company’s experiences division, which includes theme parks, resorts, and cruise lines. Disney had not launched a new ship in a decade before the debut of the Disney Wish in mid-2022, adding the Disney Treasure last year and planning to have 13 vessels sailing by 2031.

The Destiny features themed dining, curated lounges, and premium on-board live entertainment, drawing on Disney’s vast portfolio of intellectual property. The ship will showcase characters such as Black Panther, Cruella de Vil, Captain Jack Sparrow, and Loki, offering guests a unique and immersive experience during their cruise. Disney’s experiences segment reported record revenue and profit in fiscal 2024, with continued growth anticipated for the current fiscal year.

In addition to family-friendly activities, Disney has designed adult-focused areas on the Destiny, including De Vil’s piano lounge and the Sanctum inspired by Marvel’s Doctor Strange. The cruise line aims to provide a mix of luxury, entertainment, and relaxation for guests of all ages, incorporating elements from popular Disney franchises to enhance the onboard experience.

Looking ahead, Disney plans to launch additional ships, with the Disney Adventure scheduled to start servicing Singapore in March 2026. The company’s experiences business is expanding globally, with construction plans for theme parks and resorts around the world. Disney is focused on telling more stories and creating new experiences for guests, with ongoing projects aimed at enhancing its presence in the entertainment and leisure industry.
