Canada’s Prime Minister introduced a budget aiming for $1 trillion in investments over five years. The Bank of Canada cut its benchmark rate last month, but strong employment data has reduced expectations for further cuts. Barrick Mining reported strong quarterly earnings, while Constellation Software saw revenue growth.

Major sectors that gained included Materials, IT, Energy, Healthcare, and Consumer Discretionary. Individual gainers included Discovery Silver Corp, Aris Gold Corporation, and Curaleaf Holdings Inc. Real Estate and Industrials were among the sectors that lost ground.
