Sleep loss more common among African Americans after police-involved killings of unarmed Black people like Eric Garner and Tamir Rice: Study

Two new studies track the effect of police violence on Black Americans, finding racial disparities in injuries involving police use of Tasers. One study found disturbed sleep patterns in Black people in the months following unarmed police-involved killings. Another study found that nearly 36% of those injured from police use of “conducted energy” devices were Black.
