Sonoco Products Company has restructured its consumer packaging units, combining metal packaging and rigid paper containers into two divisions: Consumer Packaging EMEA/APAC and Consumer Packaging Americas. Seán Cairns is appointed president of EMEA/APAC, while Ernest Haynes will lead Consumer Packaging Americas, both reporting to Sonoco’s CEO, Howard Coker. The transition will be finalized in Q1 2026, with Rodger Fuller stepping back as CEO of Metal Packaging EMEA. The restructuring aims to streamline operations and foster innovation in the packaging sector. Sonoco, with 22,500 employees and 270 facilities worldwide, recently sold its ThermoSafe unit for $725m.
