In afternoon trading, Energy stocks are the worst performing sector, with Valero Energy Corp (VLO) and Marathon Petroleum Corp. (MPC) showing losses of 3.3% and 2.9% respectively. The Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) is down 1.1% on the day and up 7.62% year-to-date. Exelon Corp (EXC) and Dominion Energy Inc (D) are leading the Utilities sector with losses of 2.6% and 1.3% respectively. The Utilities Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLU) is down 0.2% in midday trading and up 11.80% year-to-date. In comparison, six sectors are up on the day, while three are down.
