Waste Management, Inc. (WM) is a leading provider of waste management and environmental solutions, with a market cap of $80.8 billion. Despite lagging behind the market in the past year, WM stock has seen marginal growth YTD compared to the S&P 500. Shares have underperformed in comparison to the Industrial Select Sector SPDR Fund.

After reporting Q3 2025 results on Oct. 27, WM shares fell 4.5% due to adjusted EPS of $1.98 and revenue of $6.44 billion, below expectations. Total revenue guidance was lowered to ~$25.28 billion, impacted by weaker recycled commodity prices and softer WM Healthcare Solutions revenue.

Analysts predict Waste Management’s adjusted EPS to grow 4.2% year-over-year to $7.53 for the fiscal year ending in December 2025. The consensus rating for WM is a “Moderate Buy,” with 14 “Strong Buy” ratings, one “Moderate Buy,” and nine “Holds.” This is more bullish than three months ago.

BMO Capital reduced its price target on WM to $227 on Oct. 29 while maintaining a “Market Perform” rating. The mean price target of $247.45 represents a 22.4% premium to current price levels, with a Street-high price target of $270 suggesting a 33.6% potential upside.
